Problems with Screen based ALV using objects
There are many problems with using ALV within a screen rather than using the standard ALV report function modules including:
Do not TAB correctly
Small area for large reports
More complicated to create
More complicated to handle events
Offers no benefit to the function module ALV grid control other than being able to place on a screen along side other components
As you can probabley tell i do not really have much time for the objects based ALV but I am more than happy to here from anybody who can put a good case together for the benefits of Screen based ALV Grid control using objects. Thats is apart from the benefit of being able to add an alv report along side other sap screen elements but if you just want an ALV report my advice would be to use the alv grid function modules
